15 weeks and full of sadness...

I figure I should try and make my weekly post before heading to NJ to be with my family. Unfortunately, my wonderful grandpa passed away early this morning after a 7 year battle with Alzheimer's. I have to admit it has been incredibly hard watching him slip away, but the last year has been the worse. It all went downhill once he went into a nursing home this past summer. I try to think more about the grandpa I knew, instead of the one that was in the nursing home. He was a wonderful man who loved Star Trek (oh the many episodes I had to watch cause there was only one tv), fishing, bowling, his bristly mustache, and how he always put on his socks and shoes when he got out of bed (I never ever saw him with bare feet!). I have been trying to think of names that begin with L (his name was Lionel) to use to honor him, but once we find out the genders we'll find an L name that we like for a middle name. This is my second grandparent that I have lost and I can only hope that I can share all the funny stories about them to Abby and our next two children. I know they will continue to live through all my great memories.

How far along? 15 weeks 1 day

Weight gain/loss: -6 lbs. Down a pound this week but I think its due to losing my grandfather and not eating as much.
Maternity clothes? Maternity clothes all the way!

Stretch marks? No new ones yet
Sleep? Haven't been sleeping well at all.
Best moment this week? Eating sushi!
Food cravings: Haagen Dazs coffee ice cream... mmmmmm
Gender: Not sure... Thinking boy and girl
Belly button in or out? In
Movement? Starting to feel a little movement going on down there.
What I miss? My grandfather, although I realize that he had been "gone" for awhile already.

14 Weeks!

Almost forgot to do a 14 week entry! Here is a pic showing my big ol' bump at just 14 weeks! I can not even begin to imagine what I'll look right before having these babies! I still wake up every morning hoping that my morning sickness will go away. I thought I might be okay and literally 5 minutes later I started gagging. Oh well for wishful thinking :-(

How far along? 14 weeks 4 days

Weight gain/loss: -5 lbs. Up a pound, but I am okay with gaining weight at this point.
Maternity clothes? Maternity clothes all the way!

Stretch marks? No new ones yet
Sleep? I have been sleeping pretty well actually.
Best moment this week? Hmmm.. nothing really exciting this week!

Second Tri and NT Scan!

Well hello second tri! So glad to be here, but just wish the morning sickness would go away! I have now resorted to waking up an hour before I usually do just to take the Zofran. If I don't take it then, then I get sick....every morning! It sucks, but if it means I have healthy growing babies, then I'll take it!

The NT Scan went great! Both babies are measuring well! Baby B had a heartbeat of 150 and Baby A was 168... maybe boy and girl? Poor Baby A is squished under Baby B!! The u/s was good and both had normal measurements for the fluid behind the neck and both showed nasal bones! Baby B was also very squirmy and was wiggling around!

How far along? 13 weeks 3 days

Weight gain/loss: -6 lbs. Up a pound, but I am okay with gaining weight at this point.
Maternity clothes? Maternity clothes all the way!

12 weeks

Well developmentally the babies are now in the second tri! All the major organs are just about done forming! I am counting the days until the NT Scan on Friday! DH and I both had to take the day off work so we plan on going out to brunch before the u/s since who knows how long it will take for them to measure both babies! This morning I also became an Auntie again, but this time I have a nephew! SIL and BIL totally stole our boy middle name of Alexander! We think we will probably still use the middle name if we end up with two boys anyway!

How far along? 12 weeks 1 day
Weight gain/loss: -7 lbs. Lost a pound this week but I think it was just water weight.
Maternity clothes? Maternity clothes all the way! Totally changed over my wardrobe! Hello comfy maternity pants, how I have missed you!

Sleep? I have been sleeping pretty well actually.
