28 weeks

Yikes, I went back to school this week! It was a very busy week because I had to switch back to third grade, which meant I had to move all my stuff for a second time this summer! It really stunk, but in the end I am glad to be back in third. It will make my maternity leave easy since I taught third grade for four years and saved all my plan books! Plus I really like my old classroom... only bummer is it's on the second floor!

All my coworkers were surprised at how much work I have been doing. They can't believe the level of energy I have. Yes, I am tired when I get home, but it's not too bad. The only bad thing... the swelling! My poor feet and ankles have definitely been really puffy this week. The kids start on Monday so we'll see what they look like Monday night. And yes, I had some parents already complaining about having a teacher who is pregnant. Excuse me, for wanting to have children like you did? Apparently we are not allowed to have children during the school year.

I am starting to feel really big. I can barely bend down to pick up things anymore and getting dressed is even a challenge. Tossing and turning at night is also becoming a huge effort. Only 10 more weeks though!!

27 weeks!

Hello third trimester!! The babies are extremely active and moving about! Its making it challenging to sleep because one of them is always kicking. I am starting to tell them to just deal with it and that someone is going to just have to be squished because I have to sleep on my side. Abby loves my belly and thinks its fun to climb and lay on. She loves to sit between my legs and rest her head on my belly. It was really cute the other day because one of the babies kicked and Abby moved her head and looked at me like, "WTF was that?" Zantac 150 has become my best friend and is doing a good job keeping my heartburn at bay. These girls better have full heads of hair for all the heartburn they are giving me.

Had an appointment with my OB. Uneventful for the most part. I took the glucose test again and still haven't heard anything so I am really hoping I pass because I do not want to take the 3 hour test! We also went ahead and scheduled my c-section for November 2nd. Whoohoo! I am just hoping to make it that far. She also suggested I take a little time off before having the babies. Guess we'll just have to wait and see how miserable I am. Oh yeah, teacher days start on Tuesday! I can't imagine how tired I am going to be after just those days!

26 weeks

I have no idea how I am just about in the third trimester already! This pregnancy is just flying by! I am sure sitting home relaxing for the past 9 weeks has really helped things go by quicker. Next week is my last week of vacation and while I am excited to go back to work, I am also dreading how tired and swollen I will be! I just pray that it won't be really hot the first couple weeks of school. Back to the babies, I had another u/s this week and both girls are growing like weeds! The tech estimated they are about 2lbs 2oz and 2lbs 3oz. They are also both measuring a couple days ahead. We can just hope they continue to grow throughout the remainder of my pregnancy.

25 weeks

Well only 13 more weeks to go at most! I am getting more and more nervous about going back to work though. I want to work as long as possible, but realize I will have to spent some of my maternity leave home without the babies. I am a trooper and want to stick it out, but also don't want to put them in jeopardy! At this point it looks like we decided on the names Lily (after my grandfather Lionel who recently passed away) and Hannah. The challenge now becomes the middle names!
